CYPS: Evidence of a corrupt 'investigation':

At left is a response I received from the Area Manager of CYPS in Napier to my letter asking what the qualifications of the social workers who abused my daughter were.  As you can see, two of them, Deborah Houston and Hazel Hori had absolutely none at all, and the third "social worker", Donna Remihana had a BA - pathetic!  No social work qualifications at all!

Above right is a memo from the Hastings manager, Bob Bishop, to the Area Manager Manager, Neil Cleaver, which says the the 'social worker', Debbie Houston, qualifications - NIL -needs support because she's taken the brunt of the criticism!  Of course she did - she's admitted that the matter was a custody dispute and not a matter for CYPS at all!  The fact of the matter is that the mother and daughter needed the support, not the corrupt and dishonest 'social worker'!

Below is the memorandum to the Area Manager from the Hastings manager regarding the upcoming investigation, in which he asks "Can you please tell me what "Terms of Reference" [the investigator] has?  Is he to speak to Mrs Raue's counsel?  Police?  Or is it strictly "in-house"?

At right is the typed transcript of the notations on the memo from the Area Manager, which say:
Bob,
(1) "In house"
(2) Mrs Raue phoned today, she is now going to proceed with contacting 20/20
(3) I still want [the investigator] to go ahead with a low level review as I need to have a good grasp of the case."

Below is a memo from the Area Manager to the Manager of the Hastings office about my complaints, noting the concerns expressed in the fax above (the social worker needs our support) confirming that the "review" is nothing but damage control to avoid "Ministerial activity or media interest."

Joy Cowley is the mother of my daughter's father.  She lied to police and the Court regarding these matters, like her son James did.

The document at right above documents how my much loved daughter was then sent to live with Richard and Lorraine, Open Home Foundation caregivers who CYPS decided would be much more suitable than me to have my daughter, and how Richard sexually abused her, and by the look of it, made a habit of abusing young girls in his care judging by the comments made by Lorraine, "Don't worry if he tries anything he does it all the time, it doesn't mean anything."

Nine days after being returned to James and Maria Cowley my daughter was sent flatting because according to Maria "she wasn't pulling her weight around the house."  Maria Cowley encouraged James not to pay child support, she charged him "rent" instead.  Neither of them cared less about our daughter, neither ever sent her a birthday card let alone a present, evidenced by the letter from Joy Cowley to Woodford House school at the link to Joy Cowley.  Read the lies at this link, read how a 13 year old girl was taken from a loving home because of the lies on the Police report - "I have custody, Lily lives with me" - what utter lies!

Constable Harvey Pope Perverts the Course of Justice:

This is the huge rock which was thrown through my window while I slept, innocently minding my own business as usual.

If this rock had hit my head, I would probably be dead.

The previous post has a link to one of the fake Facebook profiles created recently, and a copy of a message from another one, these have been created by Julian Tyerman and Robert Brooks and their associates, and Police could easily confirm that if they were so inclined, but they aren't, because they like to cover up violence and protect violent offenders in the Wairarapa.
Here's the hole in the window.  The glass was 5mm thick, and

COURT ORDER SILENCES CORONER AND CONCEALS FARDELL SUICIDE FROM PUBLIC - Kiwisfirst exclusive:

27 August 2007 - Kiwisfirst.com
Late in July 2007 it was revealed that Auckland High Court Justice Paul Heath ruled last December - more than a year after Robert Fardell QC (right) fell to his death from the 15 metre high Takapuna Head cliffs into the rocky surf at high tide - that the Auckland Coroner's findings and the evidence into the bizarre circumstances of Fardell's death would be largely suppressed. This Court ruling by Heath J followed prominent barrister Harry Waalken QC obtaining a restraining order in July 2006 preventing the Coroner from releasing his written report while the family sought a judicial review designed to censure and obscure the Coroner's findings. Unfortunately for Waalken, the cat had already been let out of the bag at a special inquest conducted at the Auckland Coroner's Court in June 2006. This was when Auckland Coroner Dr. Murray Jamieson issued an oral report stating Mr. Fardell died from drowning, with the post-mortem examination revealing drowning was precipitated by massive injuries consistent with a fall immediately prior.

With foul play and suicide the likely scenarios facing police officers responding to report of a lifeless body on the rocks, foul play must reasonably be ruled out simply on the response of police that day finding a middle-age man unexpectedly dead. What is known is that the police and ambulance response to the call of a body found 6:30 pm 11 December 2005 as the tide receded was unusually brief for an untimely and, presumably, uncertain cause of death. Although Mr. Fardell was 52 years old and in good health at the time he died, neither cordoning of the scene nor forensic analysis in-situ was apparently conducted. The ambulance crew left shortly after inspecting the top of the cliff above where the body was found. Moreover, as Fardell was an extremely heavy-set man who additionally had to breach a fence to reach the edge of the cliff, it is highly unlikely that his fall could have been an accident or murder in this area active with people enjoying the early summer weekend.

Nonetheless, Barrister Waalken vehemently pressed the Coroner that suicide was not a finding the Coroner could legally make - or even mention. While the Coroner seemed ultimately prepared to delicately acquiesce to Waalken's demands, Waalken's subsequent legal motions that the Coroner permanently seal the evidence and his finding were rejected outright by the Coroner as incompatible with the fundamental precept of transparent proceedings and justice. It is this ruling by the Coroner that has now been overturned by Auckland High Court Justice Heath.

There has been some speculation, unproven, that Mr. Fardell had a life insurance policy, the death benefit from which may have been lost if the Coroner's findings indicated suicide. However, it is more likely for reasons that will become apparent deeper in this story that, given the tremendous media exposure to the death, concerns were heightened within the judiciary that allowing the circumstances of the death to be made public would only increase the public's curiosity as to what drove Fardell to such self-destruction. It was anticipated that attention into the deceased's sordid personal and professional life would then raise legitimate and troubling questions as to how such a person could reach the pinnacle of the legal profession and be next in line for a judicial appointment while those in authority had turned a blind eye to numerous disturbing complaints concerning his professional conduct for several years leading up to his death.

In the days immediately following his death, the New Zealand Herald ran front page stories claiming that Mr. Fardell died of a heart attack while swimming - irresponsible news reporting easily dispelled by facts that were immediately available to any reporter interested in accuracy. Other than the location of the body on rocks hundreds of meters from the nearest beach, Mr. Fardell was not dressed for a swim as he walked away from his house for the last time. The inquest officer assigned to the case said the body was found with shorts and no shoes but that his experience was "articles of clothing quickly get separated from the body in the water". And as any viewer of CSI can tell you, there are definitive forensic tests to quickly determine whether someone has suffered a fatal heart attack.

The inquest officer, Paul Herman of the Takapuna Police, immediately realized that he was in over his head on this investigation. The last person to talk to the deceased was Chris Morris, son of (now retired) High Court judge David Morris. Chris Morris admitted to Herman that he had come to Fardell's home this Sunday afternoon to discuss pending legal matters with the deceased but declined to grant a formal interview or provide further detail. Same with the widow. Also, as the press was widely reporting that ten High Court judges had attended the funeral, the estate hired Barrister Harry Waalken QC, widely regarded as a legal Houdini on medical cases, to advance the family's position on the death - and stymie the investigation. Faced with such powerful stonewalling Mr. Herman did not need to be a genius to identify that careers are made or lost on how someone might handle himself in an investigation where a litany of prominent lawyers and judges were not only expressing a keen interest in his approach to the investigation but were simultaneously speaking out effusively in the press about what a great man of integrity Mr. Fardell was.

Mr. Fardell undoubtedly had many fine qualities, but integrity was not one of them. It didn't help that Mr. Herman quite quickly uncovered this darker side to the man. Herman casually revealed to a private investigator early in his investigation that an Asian gang Fardell had a falling out with were phoning him in an attempt to gain information. Within a month Herman was also informed that Fardell was being sued in the Auckland High Court for deceptive practices by former clients Paragon Oil Systems Limited and Vince and Jane Siemer, and that an application detailing allegations that Fardell three times perjured himself had been filed and served less than two weeks before his death. Adding insult to a potentially career-killing injury for Fardell was the fact that Hugh Williams, a judge whom Fardell considered dim-witted and vain and, hence, was an irresistible butt of his jokes, was, as judge in the case, going out of his way to unduly protect Fardell. Fardell was a proud man whose career and legitimate standing among his peers meant everything to him. This graft from an unlikely ally whom he had been all too quick to dismiss as unprofessional was a tremendous blow to his ego as much as an inescapable symbol of poetic justice.

Yet another former client, New Zealand inventor Hugh Price, was also embroiled in a legal battle against Fardell before he died. Mr. Price had years earlier obtained a ruling from the Lay Observer that overruled the Law Society's dismissal of a formal complaint he had lodged against Mr. Fardell for deceptive practices and seeming incompetence. Despite this ruling of the Lay Observer, the Law Society refused to act on the complaint. Now, in December 2005, Mr. Price was again challenging Fardell in a current case for acting in a conflict of interest capacity.

Topping off all this was Fardell's close personal and business relationship with powerful Auckland insolvency practitioner Michael Stiassny, a relationship he would come to ruefully regret in the weeks before his death This was due in large part to (what Fardell was obviously convinced to be) an intentional release of information by his former friend that helped expose Fardell's legal scams. This information put Fardell's career at risk in addition to severely undermining his credibility. Whether this was the straw in the mountain of straw that broke the camel's back is difficult to say. However, given the significant betrayal by someone he had put so much trust in, it is not difficult to surmise this weighed heavily on Fardell as he solemnly walked to the precipice this otherwise sunny Sunday. Ironically, as Stiassny was trustee of the Fardell family trust (Delfar Holdings Limited) at the time of his death Fardell could not escape his clutches even in death.

In this pressure cooker where the powerful legal community's obituary contrasted so sharply with the unfolding facts of the man's real life, Officer Herman did the only thing he considered safe under the circumstances - he went to ground. As the Coroner's representative, Officer Herman was responsible for publicizing the public inquest. Despite the tremendous number of contacts he had received from media and financially interested parties, Officer Herman informed only the widow and Harry Waalken QC of the public inquest that he had hastily convened barely 2 months after the death.

Officer Herman would arrogantly respond later to those who felt slighted by his subterfuge regarding the public inquest that he was under no obligation to inform interested parties of the date or setting. This was simply untrue. The Coroner's Act 1988 specifically required him to notify in advance parties who may have an interest in the inquest. In the winter of 2006 Judge Borrin issued a ruling on behalf of the Police Complaints Authority of New Zealand stating Herman was derelict in his obligations under the Act. The Coroner had earlier been compelled to conduct a special inquest due to Herman's railroading of the public one.

The year 2006 saw significant changes in law for the Coroner's Office. The 1988 Act was repealed in favour of the Coroner's Act 2006, which was passed into law in August 2006, and the establishment of the Coronial Services of New Zealand was formed on 1 July 2007. Perhaps this chaos explains why the Coroner - having a year earlier been ready to issue his written inquest findings before a cease and desist order of the Court prevented him from doing so - released his report on 20 July 2007, seven months after Judge Heath finally gave him the approval to do so - sans the evidence and guts of the report. Perhaps the Coroner's delay was a demonstration of conscious indignation at the Court imposed coverup.

So it was that what started as a whitewash intended to be quickly disposed of in record time was eventually whitewashed by judicial order more than a year and a half after the fact. And when one reads the Coroner's brief final report, it is obvious that Mr. Waalken earned his substantial fees on this one. In legal speak, lawyers deceive by omission. This is obvious in this case when one reads the Coroner's two page report. This reporter's favorite line from that report is "No evidence was located to suggest that Mr. Fardell harboured any intention to commit suicide. Indeed, his work on forthcoming cases suggested to the contrary". It is as perverse as it is ironic that the Coroner could not write massive injuries from a fall directly contributed to the drowning but was encouraged to get into the highly speculative (let alone non-medical) realm of saying busy people do not have time to commit suicide. Read Coroner's censured report.

In obvious double-talk the new Coronial Services website states on its' front page, "The (new) Act was designed to enhance public confidence in the integrity and independence of the coronial system." All too sadly, the net result has proven the opposite true.

Wairarapa Police Pervert the Course of Justice While Ignoring Child Abuse

The letter above waffles on making excuses for Constable Cunningham's harassment of me regarding the "Billsticking" charge. The Police charged me with putting up notices to advertise a public meeting to discuss the illegal takeover mismanagement and closure of the Carterton Community Centre. These notices said "You are invited to a public meeting to discuss the mismanagement and illegal takeover of the Carterton Community Centre" and the date and time of the meeting. Hardly a criminal act warranting the intervention of the police - not for billsticking that's for sure - investigation of the fraud and mismanagement by all means. The allegation that these notices might in any way constitute "harassment" is ridiculous - and corrupt!

Then, on page 2, the letter admits that the trespass notice used to prevent me from attending meetings of the Carterton Community Centre since 2001 was never legal.

The letter above refers firstly to some of the letters written by lawyer Ken Daniels to the police, and Sgt Murray Johnston's rude and arrogant email dismissal of our complaints. The complaints have been corruptly ignored in spite of monumental evidence of fraud and gross misfeasance.

Secondly, the letter contains the refusal of the police to charge local prostitute Rachel Betteridge with Perjury, or anything else, after Betteridge and her husband sent me text messages, saying "You need a bullet" and "Watch your back" among other extremely offensive and threatening messages. Police have been provided with signed statements from two Justices of the Peace, and a considerable amount of other information, in support of my complaints regarding this lying prostitute.

Thirdly, the letter refers to the nasty drunken home invasion and assault committed by corruptly 'elected' Mayor Gary McPhee, and the refusal of the police to charge him or his co-offender. "The matter was investigated at the time and no charges were to be laid." - Oh really? WHY NOT? - This sounds like another excuse used by the police to let criminals off: "I am aware that the Carterton District Council Members, the Carterton Mayor and MP Georgina Beyer have recently discussed issues around the closing of the centre. In such circumstances the actions of the 'elected' officers of the centre are most unlikely to have breached any Criminal Law."

Fourthly, the letter refers to the Bill Sticking charges laid against me by Constable Cunningham in about 2003, and the fact that the prosecution was so zealously pursued although there was absolutely no evidence whatsoever to support the police wasting their time on it right from the beginning.

Let's have a look at how the police have been wasting their time and our money trying to pervert the course of justice in order to prolong the corrupt reign of Gary McPhee and the others on the Carterton District Council who are guilty of conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

Let's compare the evidence in all of the prosecutions brought against me - nearly all of which have been unsuccessful and the rest of which do not stand up to scrutiny - with the evidence in support of all the complaints made by me, and supported by letters from several lawyers and community petitions, etc, all of which the police have refused to acknowledge or accept.

I came to Carterton in 2001 and have been the subject of a campaign of corrupt, politically motivated bullying by the local police and their associates, beginning with the refusal of the police to prosecute anyone for the assault and illegal takeover, malfeasance, etc at the Carterton Community Centre in 2001, the laying of the Bill Sticking charges in 2003, and have continued to the present day and the lies told to the South End School and St Matthews Collegiate, and the current corruptly laid charges of perverting the course of justice and escaping from custody, based on the word of one of the biggest criminals in Carterton! Good luck trying to convict me on this orchestrated litany of lies! Masterton Police prosecution staff won't touch it, the prosecutor has crossed his own name off the summons and substituted it with that of Constable Peter Cletoris Cunningham, who never made it past the rank of Constable for obvious reasons! - like his mates Constables Pope and Wakefield.  Constable Cunningham was deliberately dishonest - so was Alison Mulholland, the Masterton Court forensic 'nurse' who directed the psychiatrist speak with corrupt Constable Cunningham, who told Dr Barry-Walsh an orchestrated litany of lies: "Peter Cunningham indicated he has known Ms Raue in his role with the New Zealand Police in Carterton for seven years.  He described a similar pattern to that observed by Mr Daniels.  He noted that Ms Raue develops friendships with people, which goes smoothly for a time, but eventually ends in conflict or breakup.   He speculated this may be when she is confronted with something she does not wish to hear or is otherwise contradicted.  He stated Ms Raue tends to respond by making allegations and complaints to the police and engaging in angry and sometimes offensive behaviour, such as making phone calls.  He noted that she will then quieten down, sometimes for months at a time, before returning to make more complaints.  Mr Cunningham observed that he finds that when she makes these complaints, she often speaks in a rapid, driven manner, with disorganised thoughts that appear "all over the place".  He indicated he was aware a similar pattern had been manifest when she was previously in Wellington.  He also stated that when she has been to Court for charges, he has seen evidence that she may use this tendency to become elevated, driven, emotional and distressed, in an instrumental way." - What a pack of nonsense!  I had next to nothing to do with police when I previously lived in Wellington or anywhere else for that matter - lawyer Ken Daniels wrote ""I am pleased at the dismissal of a number of charges against you. That is as it should have been in my view. It was always apparent from an early stage that for whatever reason you were a "lightning rod" for Police attention in Carterton. This was, in my view, most unfair to you and unwarranted Police attention resulted in unnecessary charges being laid. On reflection it would have been far better if the Police had been able to discuss any concerns they had directly with you so that those concerns may have been laid to rest in a much more appropriate way." . . . "It is clear that there were many unanswered questions from the Police. We never did get full details from them regarding some of your cases. I have been unable to go back to "the matter of the 2004 letter" simply because of the volume of paperwork and the length of time that it would have taken to have researched that matter. I do know however that numerous letters were sent to the Police and discussions held with them to try and get some satisfaction in relation to the allegations that they made against you. As I have said, those enquiries were not always met with success."

Operation Satanic - Death of the Rainbow Warrior:

The sinking of the Rainbow Warrior, codenamed Opération Satanique,[1] was an operation by the "action" branch of the French foreign intelligence services, the Direction Générale de la Sécurité Extérieure (DGSE), carried out on 10 July 1985. During the operation, two operatives sank the flagship of the Greenpeace fleet, the Rainbow Warrior in the port of Auckland, New Zealand. The French government wanted to prevent the ship from interfering with a planned nuclear test in Moruroa.
Fernando Pereira, a photographer, drowned on the sinking ship. Two French agents were arrested by the New Zealand Police on passport fraud and immigration charges. They were charged with arson, conspiracy to commit arson, willful damage, and murder. As part of a plea bargain, they pleaded guilty to manslaughter and were sentenced to ten years in prison, of which they served just over two. The resulting scandal resulted in the resignation of the French Defence Minister Charles Hernu.

Sinking of the ship

French agents posing as interested supporters or tourists toured the ship while it was open to public viewing. DGSE agent Christine Cabon, posing as environmentalist Frederique Bonlieu, volunteered to work in the Greenpeace office in Auckland. Cabon secretly monitored communications from the Rainbow Warrior, collected maps, and investigated underwater equipment, in order to provide information crucial to the sinking.
After the necessary information had been gathered two DGSE divers attached two limpet mines to the Rainbow Warrior berthed at Marsden Wharf and detonated them 10 minutes apart. The first bomb went off 11:38 p.m., creating a large hole about the size of an average car. Agents intended the first mine to cripple the ship so that it would be evacuated safely by the time the second mine was detonated. However, the crew did not react to the first explosion as the agents had expected. While the ship was initially evacuated, some of the crew returned to the ship to investigate and film the damage. A Portuguese-Dutch photographer, Fernando Pereira, returned below decks to fetch his camera equipment. At 11:45 p.m., the second bomb went off. Pereira drowned in the rapid flooding that followed, and the other ten crew members either safely abandoned ship on the order of Captain Peter Willcox or were thrown into the water by the second explosion. The Rainbow Warrior sank four minutes later.

France implicated

Operation Satanique was a public relations disaster. France, being an ally of New Zealand, initially denied involvement and joined in condemning what it described as a terrorist act. The French Embassy in Wellington denied involvement, stating that "the French Government does not deal with its opponents in such ways".[2]
After the bombing, the New Zealand Police started one of the country's largest police investigations. Most of the agents on the team escaped New Zealand, but two, Captain Dominique Prieur and Commander Alain Mafart were identified as possible suspects. Posing as a married couple, Sophie and Alain Turenge, were identified with the help of a Neighborhood Watch group, and were arrested. Both were questioned and investigated. While carrying Swiss passports, their true identities were discovered, along with the French government's responsibility.
Three other agents, Chief Petty Officer Roland Verge, Petty Officer Bartelo and Petty Officer Gérard Andries, who sailed to New Zealand on the yacht Ouvéa, were arrested by Australian police on Norfolk Island, but released as Australian law did not allow them to be held until the results of forensic tests came back. They were then picked up by the French submarine Rubis, which scuttled the Ouvéa.
A sixth agent, Louis-Pierre Dillais, commander of the operation, was never captured and never faced charges. He acknowledged his involvement in an interview with New Zealand State broadcaster TVNZ in 2005.[3]
Prieur and Mafart pleaded guilty to manslaughter and were sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment on 22 November 1985. France threatened an economic embargo of New Zealand's exports to the European Economic Community if the pair were not released.[4] Such an action would have crippled the New Zealand economy, which was dependent on agricultural exports to Britain.

In June 1986, in a political deal with Prime Minister of New Zealand David Lange, presided over by United Nations Secretary-General Javier Pérez de Cuéllar, France agreed to pay NZ$13 million (USD$6.5 million) to New Zealand and apologise, in return for which Alain Mafart and Dominique Prieur would be detained at the French military base on Hao Atoll for three years. However, the two agents had both returned to France by May 1988, after less than two years on the atoll. Mafart returned to Paris on 14 December 1987 for medical treatment, and was apparently freed after the treatment. He continued in the French Army and was promoted to colonel in 1993. Prieur returned to France on 6 May 1988, because she was pregnant, her husband having been allowed to join her on the atoll. She, too, was freed and later promoted. The removal of the agents from Hao without subsequent return was ruled to be in violation of the 1986 agreement.[5]
A commission of enquiry headed by Bernard Tricot cleared the French government of any involvement, claiming that the arrested agents, who had not yet pleaded guilty, had merely been spying on Greenpeace. When The Times and Le Monde claimed that President Mitterrand had approved the bombing, Defence Minister Charles Hernu resigned and the head of the DGSE, Admiral Pierre Lacoste, was fired. Eventually, Prime Minister Laurent Fabius admitted the bombing had been a French plot: On 22 September 1985, he summoned journalists to his office to read a 200 word statement in which he said: "The truth is cruel," and acknowledged there had been a cover-up, he went on to say that "Agents of the French secret service sank this boat. They were acting on orders."[6]

Aftermath

In the wake of the bombing, a flotilla of private New Zealand yachts sailed to Moruroa to protest against the French test.
At that time, French nuclear tests in the Pacific were halted. However, another series of tests was conducted in 1995.[7] In 1987, under international pressure, the French government paid $8.16 million to Greenpeace.
The Rainbow Warrior was refloated for forensic examination. She was deemed irreparable and scuttled at 34°58′29″S 173°56′06″E / 34.9748°S 173.9349°E in Matauri Bay, near the Cavalli Islands, on 12 December 1987, to serve as a dive wreck and fish sanctuary.[8] Her masts had been removed and put on display at the Dargaville Maritime Museum.
The failure of Western leaders to condemn this violation of a friendly nation's sovereignty caused a great deal of change in New Zealand's foreign and defence policy.[9] New Zealand distanced itself from its traditional ally, the United States, and built relationships with small South Pacific nations, while retaining excellent relations with Australia, and to a lesser extent, the United Kingdom.[10]
In 2005, Le Monde released a 1986 report that said Admiral Pierre Lacoste, head of DGSE at the time, had "personally obtained approval to sink the ship from the late president François Mitterrand." Soon after the publication, former Admiral Lacoste came forward and gave newspaper interviews about the situation, while also admitting the death weighed on his conscience and said the aim of the operation had not been to kill.[11] He acknowledged the existence of three teams: the crew of the yacht, reconnaissance and logistics (those successfully prosecuted), plus a two-man team that carried out the bombing and whose identities have never been confirmed.[12]
A 20th anniversary memorial edition of the 1986 book Eyes of Fire: The Last Voyage of the Rainbow Warrior,[13] by New Zealand author David Robie who was on the bombed ship, was published in July 2005. He was interviewed by TVNZ on 8 August 2006 about the Court of Appeal judgement.[14]
Also on that anniversary, Television New Zealand (TVNZ) sought to access a video record made at the preliminary hearing where the two agents pleaded guilty. The footage had remained sealed on the court record since shortly after conclusion of the criminal proceedings. The two agents opposed release of the footage—despite having both written books on the incident—and have unsuccessfully taken the case to the New Zealand Court of Appeal and, subsequently, the Supreme Court of New Zealand.[15] On 7 August 2006, judges Hammond, O'Regan and Arnold dismissed the former French agents' appeal[16] and Television New Zealand broadcast their guilty pleas the same day. However, two days later the judges reversed their ruling, temporarily blocking webcasts[17] and further broadcasts of the footage.[14]
In 2006 Antoine Royal revealed that his brother, Gérard Royal, had claimed to be involved in planting the bomb. Their sister is French Socialist Party politician Ségolène Royal who was contesting the French presidential election.[18][19] Other sources identified Royal as merely a Zodiac pilot.[20]
In 2006 Fernando Pereira's family demanded that the bombers face trial for murder, and begged the New Zealand government to extradite Gerard Royal from Switzerland.
The New Zealand government announced there would be no extradition requests since the case was closed.[21]

Gerard Royal arrogantly complained of "being harassed without reason".  Louis-Pierre Dillais is now an executive in the U.S. subsidiary of Belgian arms manufacturer FN Herstal and lives in the U.S. state of Virginia.[3] Ironically the New Zealand government has been buying arms from FN Herstal.[22] Greenpeace are still pursuing the extradition of Dillais for his involvement in the act.[23]
On 14 October 2011, Greenpeace launched a new sailing vessel called Rainbow Warrior III, which is equipped with an auxiliary electric motor.[24]
